![]() ![]() Overall: I can see why some privacy and security journalists offer ProtonMail as one way of reaching them! I'm happy to sacrifice a little flexibility in choosing which country (which is also helpful since in the US, you don't really have blocked sites anyways, and screwing around with country messes up Google search language results), if it means I can know my data is safe in Swiss servers. Other free VPNs like the one in Opera Developer let you select which continent to be routed to, but it's questionable where those VPN servers are and how secure your data is. ![]() I also like how ProtonMail, on Windows desktop at least, lets you decide if you want all your traffic routed through its servers or just some.Ĭons: The free tier isn't flexible enough to really select where your spoofed location is - it seems to default to other places in your country. ProtonVPN is the worlds ONLY free VPN service that respects your privacy and is safe to use. Pros: I got ProtonMail's VPN to better protect myself online, and I'm happy to say that unlike some of the other free VPN solutions out there, ProtonMail actually works! I tried looking up my IP address before and after, and the geolocation feature definitely works. ProtonVPN is a secure and free VPN, now featuring better connection stability, faster speeds, and even more security features. ![]()
